What the marketing site uses

The pages you're reading now are close to cookie-free. We don't run advertising trackers, and we don't drop cookies to follow you around the web. Your browser may keep a few strictly technical items — for example, remembering that you've dismissed a notice — so you're not shown the same thing on every page. These make the site work; they don't identify you personally.

Fonts and hosting

We load our typefaces from Google Fonts, which serves the font files and may log the request the way any web server logs traffic. Our web host does the same for the pages themselves. This is ordinary server activity rather than tracking, and it isn't tied to a marketing profile of you.

Inside the course

Once you log in to the course itself, a small number of functional cookies keep you signed in and remember your progress between sessions. Those are necessary for the course to work at all — without them you'd be logged out on every page. They aren't used for advertising.

Turning cookies off

You're in control of your browser. Every major browser lets you view, block or delete cookies and site data from its settings, usually under “Privacy.” Clearing them for this site is harmless on the public pages; inside the course it will simply log you out and forget your progress marker until you sign in again. You can also browse in a private window if you'd prefer nothing be kept.
